Making Lentil Swirled Beads

Grasp the clear plate in both hands. Extend your first fingers to grab the sides of the plate. These hand positions should help keep the plate level while you move it. While holding the plate, rotate it in a circular motion, kind of like the motion when you hold a cloth to apply wax to a car. Rotate either clockwise or counter wise – your choice. This action will magically and slowly create the bicone shape for you!

To create a spiral, you will need to rotate the bicone anywhere from 10-120 times. Start with extremely clean surfaces; the work surface and the plate. Too much polymer clay residue on those surfaces prevents the swirl’s formation. If your base surface is clear acrylic, puta printout of a large circle underneath it to help guide you.

Make sure the clay you use in the bead is consistent in firmness. If parts of the round bead vary in firmness, it will be extra difficult to keep those rotations even and to form a good even bicone or lentil shape.

There are no rules about if you should make a hole in your bead before or after you bake them. While it is typically easier to make a hole prior to baking, it is also easier to distort the nice round edges of the lentil shape. Try both to see which method you prefer. Typically if you want to the hole to be vertical so you can have a set of small lentils for bead bracelets.

A few hours before a rave my friends would bust out huge bowls of neon beads and string. They would each come up with a rave persona for the night and design their bead bracelet or “rave kandy” accordingly. These beads were not the same beads I knew as a child. These rave beads were a multiplicity of sizes, wild colors, and they glowed in the dark. I think the number one reason I got excited about these bead bracelets was because they glow in the dark. Just think about this for a second. The largest bookseller in the world, Amazon, now sells more books digitally than it does in printed format. Why is this so? The reason is simply a majority of people prefer reading books these days on their portable devices, such as a Kindle, Nook, iPad, or Sony e-Reader.

With these portable devices, you are able to have an unlimited number of books with you at all times. And, the best part, the digital versions do not cost as much as the printed versions, since there are no printing costs to deal with.

It’s not alarming that Amazon’s Kindle device and other e-reader devices have been the leading driver as to why Borders bookstores is declaring bankruptcy. Yes, Borders just recently announced it will be closing a large number of its bookstores in the U.S.

While as sad as it is for Borders, the ever increasing demand for digital books has opened up a lot of opportunities for every small business and individual author out there. Here’s why. With digital books, you don’t need a publisher, an agent, or countless months of time to set aside to draft, write and edit a book. That is what it traditionally takes for authors and their publishers to create a physical book. (I know first-hand – I’m an 8-time author myself).

In just a couple of days or a few weeks, you can now utilize free applications on the web to determine whether anyone is interested in buying the book you want to sell, and also have the entire book created and distributed in the key places where thousands and thousands of buyers are at.

Step 1 – Identify Topics That Are In Demand

Once you find a topic that people are interested in paying for, you can move on to the next step, which is creating the book.

Step 2 – Create the Book

In this step, you actually move forward with creating the book. This is not as hard as it may sound. You can even create a book that is on a topic you are unfamiliar with. How you may be wondering? Well, you can (1) hire another person who is an expert on that topic to write the book for you; or (2) you can interview an expert on that topic and then turn their interview into a book; or (3) you or someone else can do the research on the topic and then write the book.

But it is cheaper than ever before to hire other people to write content for you, and/or to hire experts to interview. You can find experts to interview on sites such as ezinearticles.com. Look for authors who have written a lot of good quality articles about the topic you want your book to be about. You can then contact them to see if you can either interview them, or if they want to write a book for you.

Step 3 – Convert the Book into Amazon’s Kindle Format

Once your book is finished, you should then move forward with converting it into the Amazon Kindle format. Since Amazon is the largest bookseller in the world, you would be crazy if you neglected to sell your eBook in their bookstore.

You will want to make sure you that you include your key words in the title of the book, so that it will be found by more people. So if your ideal key word that gets a lot of searches is “start a business”, then you might name your book “Start a Business”. Amazon will then add the phrase [Kindle Edition] to the end. So your book title will end up being “Start a Business [Kindle Edition]“.

People who are then searching Google and other search engines for “start a business” will be more likely to find your book than those searching on “starting your own business”.

However, if you pick the most popular key word of them all, it will be a lot more difficult to rank for. So you will want to pick a popular key word, but one that doesn’t have a gazillion competing pages.

There are dozens of giant marketplaces that allow you to sell eBooks and printed books. These are just a few examples to get you started. But the key point is that you should start with the places that people are already visiting and buying eBooks.

Step 5 – Create Inbound Links To Your Book Listings On The Giant Marketplaces
